‘Tis the season to be very grateful!

CUESTA INLET is now COMMUNITY-OWNED!

On the morning of December 5, 2025, at 9:23 AM, escrow officially closed on Cuesta Inlet. Just 26 minutes later, the King Tide rose—as if Mother Nature herself was celebrating the moment this beloved place finally came home to our community.

The 100% volunteer team of local citizens worked tirelessly for more than three years to raise awareness and raise the necessary funds to purchase the Inlet. We're excited for the momentum we're seeing in the community for the ongoing support of Save Cuesta Inlet.

In early 2026, the nonprofit will invite the community to share input as it begins the next phase of ensuring the Inlet’s long-term care and vitality. Donations will continue to be welcomed in support of this next chapter.

Cuesta Inlet has been a treasured spot for Los Ososians and visitors alike. Our aim is to keep the Inlet waterways open for kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboarding, and sailing. The Inlet will continue to provide opportunities for all age groups and physical abilities to experience its serene setting and beauty.

Funding sources will still be needed for the management and preservation of the Inlet for the public.
