Over 700 boats populate the Cuesta Inlet shoreline and property. The Save Cuesta Inlet Boat Identification Project is aimed at identifying abandoned and derelict boats and removing them from the property. Videos by Sandra Chandler, © 2026

As the first stewardship project inspired by your Cuesta Inlet Community Survey feedback, Save Cuesta Inlet is launching a Boat Identification Project in conjunction with California Coastal Clean Up Day on Saturday, September 19.

The Boat Identification Project will help us:

  • Identify active boats and distinguish them from abandoned vessels.

  • Maintain current owner contact information on file.

  • Better care for and steward Cuesta Inlet for years to come.

This is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we’ll be rolling out additional stewardship projects inspired by what you shared in the Community Survey.
